School Committee Member Sarah Fitzgerald & Daniel Alfred Withdraw
Holliston, 6/5/26 – Holliston School Committee Member Sarah Fitzgerald (below left) withdrew from the School Committee after personal attacks on her and her family.
Daniel Alfred (below right) withdrew his name for consideration on the School Committee releasing this statement:
“Appointment Candidacy Update: I wanted to let everyone know that, unfortunately, due to the horrendous behavior and actions of a few members of our community who have decided that it is better to assassinate the character of me and my family online (as well as those of the current members of the School Committee) rather than debate policies, I have decided to withdraw my name as a candidate for appointment to the Holliston School Committee. I am truly sorry that it has come to this. I have loved serving our community and working to make our town and schools better. However, the amount of lies, misinformation and slander that has been coming out from a small group of people is so bad that in the interest of protecting my family and trying to ensure the HSC can continue to operate effectively, I feel it is only appropriate to take this action. I had really hoped to be able to serve one more year, help with the leadership transition, budget and contract negotiations and then take a step back. It is clear that despite the support from those who I have worked closest with and know me the best, that is just not possible. Thank you to everyone for your support over these past 14 years.”
